Google quietly launched a new way for Android users to hear audio footage (podcasts) and to subscribe to the shows they like - and it already works on your phone.
Production company Podcast Pacific Content became an exclusive rights partner: basically, Google now submits podcast info and order listing to search results on your Android device and you can sync them instantly - no install application is needed, writes The Next Web.
To get started, just search for a show using Google Search or Google Assistant with a question like "bbc podcast".
You will be presented with information about the show, and a list of recent episodes that you can start playing right away; there is also a podcast icon at the top of the page.
The podcast user has the basic functionality of the review and the ability to download episodes for offline listening, as well as a speed control for those who want to watch the show list. You can also subscribe to podcasts and send them to a list that can be shortened whenever you like.
Google added support for podcasts in its Google Play Music streaming service in April 2016 and it looks like it's the way the company makes more podcasts and easily accessible to Android users. It makes sense, given that space has grown steadily over the past two years, and traders have dramatically increased their advertising spending.
