The display of an average phone is more than three times spotted than a toilet seat, according to recent research. Insurance2go's technology security specialists have analyzed three different phones - an iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Google Pixel - to find out how many bacteria each has accumulated. They found flour, mold and aerobic bacteria in all parts of the phones. What is not surprising, given that the British average touch the phone screen 3,000 times a day.
But according to the firm, a third of Britons have never cleaned their phones. After voting for a thousand adults in the UK, the firm found that only one in 20 individuals clean their phones every six months or less, writes metro.co.uk. "Our testing revealed that phone screens contain the highest amount of bacteria, yeast and mold, with 254.9 infected units present per cm2," the company said. So, on average, each device had 84.9 units of infection, while the toilet average contained about 24 units. An office console has five. Fortunately, cleaning your phone should not be a chore. Specialists recommend using a clean cloth with a diluted alcohol solution to wipe the front and back of the phone. Doing this once a week is all you need to keep the phone free of bacteria.
