Google sued for unwanted tracking of phone locations

A lawsuit filed at US federal court charges Google for tapping people's privacy by tracking the location of phone users despite the "location history" settings have been turned off, Daily Mail Online says. The lawsuit filed Friday by a man in California claims indemnification for unspecified damages along with status to represent all iPhone users in the US or phones that have turned off the location history so that they do not have their tapped movements from Google.

"Google has shown convincingly to users of their operating system and applications that the activation of certain settings will prevent the tracking of the geographic location of the user," has been stated in the lawsuit. "This representation was false." The lawsuit accuses Google of violating the privacy law and cites a report last week confirmed by university researchers. Google did not respond to a comment request.
